About Fun Fleet Bus #1736

This bus was purchased from Omaha  Transit. I needed a standard model, 96 inches wide, third generation so this bus fit the bill. I went to pick it  up in Omaha. It was 2-degrees and super cold. The bus only had 4 tires so I had to go back to the Omaha bus yard and get extra rims and then bought two tires. After that, I drove it back to California with no problems along the way.

 Now this bus wanted to fight. I built an engine and replaced the powerplant. Then I discovered a noisy differential. On differential issues, my policy is to pull the entire rear axle out and, in this case, changed the differential.  Once installed I got all new radius rod bushings, new shocks, U-joints, and replaced some air bags. A few years later I changed out the transmission. It stayed in the collection for 20 years.
